Summary:
Recent
research
on
surprising
musical
symbolism
in
Plato’s
dialogues
will
be
introduced,
together
with
an
overview
of
the
tradition
of
symbolism
in
classical
Greece
and
its
connections
to
Pythagoreanism.
On
the
second
day,
as
part
of
a
group
exercise,
the
same
methods
will
be
applied
to
a
short
dialogue
to
show
that
it
has
the
same
musical
structure
as
Plato’s
Symposium
and
Euthyphro.
Two,

We
will
work
with
Greek
texts
and
their
translations.

and
without
Greek
